Went with Wideman for scoring. Take scoring out of the equation and the flames will have the worst D line-up in the NHL.

Gio for the last 2 years has shown that he can't handle top pairing and thats where he will be next year. Wideman should be nowhere near top pairing, but will probably be Gio's partner. That's a #3 and #4 d-men playing top pairing..ouch!! I feel sorry for whoever is in goal.

What are your predictions on all four of these guys?
Just so you know all islander fans are happy strait is gone. His numbers are going down every year, he can't play defence, and Philly is a sucker for signing him for that ridiculous contract.

If it isn't Wideman I would be surprised. Calgary's scoring problem won't be 5v5 scoring it will be powerplay scoring. There is only two people on the team that are true pp players and Wideman is one of them (Cammi the other). Watch Wideman lead the league in PP minutes.

Who cares. This team is rebuilding & we are going to see different players get the prime minutes to see what they have. JBO/Iggy/Kipper literally had top minutes by default before seasons ever started. More PP minutes will probably go to Wideman & last year I was pretty impressed with him on the PP. Who knows Cundari may step up & earn his PP minutes & be the surprise of the blue line. Brodie is more than capable of taking another step & add that offensive component to his game. We really don't care, someone new is going to get their chance & some we are going to be disappointed with & others will give us hope. Surprised a fan of a team like the Islanders would crap on a team just starting a rebuild.

Or crap on a team period, especially considering how bad the Isles have been up until this past season.

id like to see 20g for baert, and glenx to hit 30g this year. otherwise, a full season of brodie playing 24+min a game, and handling top 4 match ups would be a great achievement.

Af ew years of smaller growth achievements.

Question for Flames fans and Todd:
IF you guys finish last, who do you guys take you think? Ekblad? Reinhart? Nylander?
I'm personally going with Ekblad 100%. Although I have a feeling a Seth Jones type of drop could happen to him, just mostly b/c of the "1st overall dman bust"

I think Ekblad definitely has Norris potential. Shea Weber potential IMO.

I'd like ekblad, would rather go with a forward with the 1st pick overall like reinhart (nylander is to small on the flames, they are small already).....would prefer trading the 2014 pick for another 2105 first and a later pick though (get a big right aggressive wing, like nick ritchie, something they are sorely lacking and would complement well with the likes of baert/monahan looking like their future core). Maybe NJ would be interested with their lack of a pick this year.

I agree with Reinhart. Having brothers play on the same team can make things interesting.

Max will likely have another year with the heat but I think he will be one of the first callups as he looked good at the end of the year.

As a side note have you noticed the lack of depth with RW prospects across the NHL? RW typically score more than LW as most centers shoot left so the natural pass is to the right wing. I wonder why there is a lack of high end RW prospects.

Todd as you seem to be good at stats maybe there is some backup to my statement or do I watch to much NHL and not enough junior?

Some scouts don't have Ekblad top 10. Toss up between Reinhart, Nylander, and Draisatl I'm thinking for who goes #1

EDM's top pairing is Petry and Smid who are a #3 and #4 respectively. EDM allowed 19th most GA and had the 7th best SV%. Not the worst thing

could be more RH centers lately at the high end level (mackinon, Scheifele, strome,)... but thats a stretch

but yes, alot of teams seem weaker on the Rightside.

could also be that there's more LH D, so the RW has to play a more conservative defensively aware roll since the on that side is on the off wing.

Those scouts are (frank)ing high
Ekblad is honestly amazing. No way he's not top 5.
